Artist Terms
These terms apply to every artist account, on every plan. By signing up, you agree to them. Have a lawyer review these terms before launch.
1. Upload only your own music
You may upload only music you own, or music you have written permission to sell or give away. That covers every part of a release: lyrics, vocals, the beat or instrumental, every sample, and the cover art.
You may not upload another artist’s songs, leaks, bootlegs, rips from streaming services, or tracks built on uncleared samples or beats you didn’t license. If you produced with a leased beat, your license must allow selling or free distribution, and you must follow its limits.
Free mixtapes follow the same rule. Every song on a mixtape must be yours or cleared for you to share. You must be able to show proof of ownership or permission if we ask, such as a beat license, a split sheet or a sample clearance.
2. What happens if you break this rule
We remove any release reported or found to contain music you don’t have the rights to. Repeat or deliberate violations close your account without a refund of plan fees. You are responsible for any claims, costs or losses caused by music you uploaded without permission.
3. Takedown reports
Rights owners can report a release through our DMCA page. We take the release down while we review it and let you know. If you believe it was removed by mistake, you can send a counter-notice.
4. You keep your rights and your money
You keep full ownership of your music. You give Mixtape Gorillaz permission only to host, stream previews of, and deliver your releases on this site, for as long as they are posted. Sales are paid straight to your PayPal account; we take no share. Refunds and disputes on sales are between you and the buyer through PayPal.
5. Plans and limits
Your plan sets what you can sell and how many releases you can post. Plan fees are billed monthly through PayPal and you can cancel anytime. If a payment lapses, your account moves to the Free plan and paid releases are hidden until you renew.
6. Content rules
No hate speech, threats, or content that targets real people. Cover art and shorts follow the same rules. We can remove content that breaks these terms.
